Coming across the website
I came across this wedding website since Colbert leave a message here. It is really interesting that Colbert read my another post on the wedding blog of Fione and Harrace, and he is a friend of this couple. This is the world of internet! It makes the world become so small.
Wedding tips from the site
I found that their wedding website does not only share their happiness but also a lot of tips which may be helpful for all brides and grooms to be. You can find ideas for wedding photo, food and even love poems from their wedding blog.

Graphics for your wedding invitation
You may want to put some graphics in your wedding website or wedding invitation. Unless you are a illustartor yourself, it is not easy to “draw” the images in your website or invitation.
Paid or free services
In this case I will suggest you to search for some wedding cliparts. Some website will charge you a small fee (something like USD29 per month) and you can download the cliparts without any limit.
You can also find some websites which offer free wedding cliparts. Of course the quality will not be as high as the cliparts from a paid site but it will be good enough if do not want to spend any extra on wedding cliparts.
Examples of wedding clipart websites
Below are some websites which provide these free resources:

Share your happiness
After deciding to get married, many couples would open a wedding blog to record the process of their wedding preparation. It is a good way to share the happiness among friends and relatives. To share the happiness and every single detail with them.
Your Big day count up down for your wedding website
I was talking about a wedding count down widget the other day. This time I am going to introduce you a count up down counter which you can put on your website or blog. It would count how many days, hours and second till you big day and count up the sweet moment after your wedding too.
The counter with a clear outlook which gives the reader a very clear information of how long till your wedding and how long you two have been getting married.

Pros of setting up a wedding website
I have been reading different articles about wedding website. In fact, the number one advantage of creating a wedding website is that you may be able to save money on items such as save the date card, or directional map card when you order your wedding stationery.
Besides, it is also good to put your photos and tell your guests the whole proccess of your wedding planning. You can really share your ups and downs when planning for your Big Day. Your guests can also get the latest news about your wedding.
Creating your website free of charge
In fact you can create a wedding website which is totally free of charge. One of such services is Wedding Announcer. Some of my friends back in Hong Kong would rather use the services by Wedding Announcer than the free services in Hong Kong. What is good about their service is that there are also wedding planning tools such as RSVP and mailing list for your free website.
Your website should be an excellent one when it is used with the services by SmileBox I metioned a few days before.
A sample wedding website can be found from: http://pm1202.weddingannouncer.com/

Smilebox.com
When I was reading a wedding blog from Hong Kong today I find this website http://www.smilebox.com/. The owner of the blog has created a really interesting Save-the-date Ecard.
Create the wedding ecard yourself
I think this is quite a good use of the free services provided by the website. Though I am a wedding invitation designer myself, I sometimes advise my clients to use email to send their save the date notes instead of making a physical card if they only need a small quantity of cards. It is because that will help them to save some money on the wedding stationeries.
It should be also good to make a slide show as an graphical introduction of your wedding website.
When you enter the website of Smilebox, you can click “OCCASIONS” and you will find some themes for wedding. Let’s start explore it http://www.smilebox.com/.

A wedding website can help you to share all the moments and emotions when you are planning your wedding. You can also remind your guests the date and time of your wedding. You can even put a map in the website so that your guests can go to the venue easily. In the past, unless you had a lot of knowledge on HTML and programming, it will not be possible for you to make your own website. You needed professionals in the web designing industry to help you to develop the wedding website.
Thanks to the advance in internet technology and open source softwares, you can now develop your own wedding website yourself without any difficulty. Nearly no knowledge in HTML and programming will be needed. The user interface for setting up the site is extremely user friendly that my grandma in her eighties can also master the website. Although it is relatively easy to make a wedding website, you may still follow some steps to make it come true. Read the rest of this entry »
