Today is 08-08-2008, which is also 08 July in the Chinese calendar. For traditional Chinese people, wedding ceremony would not be held during this month because of July (in Chinese calendar) is the ghost festival (month). However, it is a lot different in 2008. Lots of couple rush to have their wedding ceremony held on 8 August 2008. One of the reason is that the Olympic games are held in Beijing and the opening ceremony will be in 8 August 2008.
Another reason is that the word “EIGHT” reads like another word which means “rich and wealthy” in Chinese. The date 08-08-2008 means very rich and wealthy. It is a really lucky date! Therefore, lots of Chinese people will choose to have their wedding ceremony on 8 Aug 2008.
Interestingly, it seems that all couples have just forgot it is the ghost month!

Lots of couples would love to have their wedding photo shooting in outdoor environment. But there are lots more to take care of compare of taking wedding photo in studio:
1. Go with a professional make-up artist
Wedding photo is not living photos, a professional make-up artist would make you look great in the photo. A couple of days before the shooting, you should meet your make-up artist with your dressing you plan to wear during the shooting, let she prepare the necessary make-up equipment or ornaments for you. With on-site make-up artist, you can ensure you are always in the best make-up condition all day through.
2. Bring a spray with you
Your dress more appear with small crinkle which you can make them smooth by the spray.
3. More helper would do good for you
Bring along with your professional team member such as stylist, pops maker, lighter professionals, they would always turn your photos into remarkable art pieces.
4. Find more photographers
Different photographers would have their own style, it would be great if you would have different style photos for your big day. Because it only one time in your lifetime.

A UK (London) Based Photographer
Today, I found the website of Mark Anderson Photographer when I was surfing on the web. Similar to other photographers, Mark does nearly everything kind of photography. And without any surprise, one section of his porfolio is about wedding photography.
Wedding Photography - A Stylish Approach
From Mark’s website, I found the following sentences, “We believe that successful wedding photography involves not simply portraying the main events of the day but capturing the mood and spirit of the occasion.” I think it is very true and I quite agree with this statement. In your wedding, what is really lively is not the settings or decorations. It is the guests, as well as you, that make the whole event become something lively and human.
I think Mark can really do what he believes. From the samples of photos from his website, I have a feeling that he captures the mood of the event very well. And this is the essence of what wedding photography should be. If you are also living in UK, I think Mark should be one of your options.

Selecting the Wedding Photographer
Choosing the right wedding photographer is not an easy task. Of course the reputation should be the number one issue you consider when your are seeking for the photographer. You may try to ask for opinions from people who have married or on some forums on weddings. However, sometimes these opinions can be biased. You may want some more objective views during your selection process.

The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is an international organization. They accept a photographer as a member by revealing their previous jobs. You can assume that the members of the association can deliver services of certain quality. What is more important is that you can search for the members in your area so that you can contact them if needed. You can also find a rough list of charges of the members.

The wedding of Yao Ming
The hottest news in China in these few days is the wedding (it will be held most probably middle of August) of Chinese NBA player Yao Ming. In China, couples will take a set of “wedding photos” with the gowns on before the wedding.
From the news, Yao Ming took these wedding photos in Jiuzhaigou Valley, Sichuan, China.
A little information about Jiuzhaigou
Jiuzhaigou was inhabited by various Tibetan and Qiang peoples for centuries, but was not officially discovered by the government until 1972. In fact, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. It belongs to the category V (Protected Landscape)in the IUCN system of protected area categorization.
You can consider having your wedding photo taken in Jiuzhaigou
Personally I think Jiuzhaigou is a very beautiful place. I suggest if your budget allows (may be it is quite a large budget), you can go there to take a set of wedding photos. It will be really a memorable experience.
If you plan to stick to taking the photos on your wedding day, you can also consider your honeymoon in Sichuan. It will be extremely romantic and wonderful.
