Writing Your Own Wedding Vow

The wedding vow is a very important part in your wedding in a sense that it is one of the things that makes your wedding official. Many couples will choose to write their own vow nowadays instead adopting the traditional ones.

Renewing it!

You may also renew your vow after some years. Of course the write the renewal one may be even more difficult. You have already married for maybe 25 years and you may think that you can just tell him / her and you really do not know what you should write. In fact, you can put some poems into the vow and it can be very sweet and romantic. And you can also find a lot of samples of Poems for Wedding Vow Renewal.

Of course I will not suggest you to copy and paste all this samples. But I think it is still good to read these Poems for Wedding Vow Renewal thoroughly so that you can start write your own.

You can get some samples of the poems from:

A UK (London) Based Photographer

Today, I found the website of Mark Anderson Photographer when I was surfing on the web. Similar to other photographers, Mark does nearly everything kind of photography. And without any surprise, one section of his porfolio is about wedding photography.

Wedding Photography – A Stylish Approach

From Mark’s website, I found the following sentences, “We believe that successful wedding photography involves not simply portraying the main events of the day but capturing the mood and spirit of the occasion.” I think it is very true and I quite agree with this statement. In your wedding, what is really lively is not the settings or decorations. It is the guests, as well as you, that make the whole event become something lively and human.

I think Mark can really do what he believes. From the samples of photos from his website, I have a feeling that he captures the mood of the event very well. And this is the essence of what wedding photography should be. If you are also living in UK, I think Mark should be one of your options.

I was talking about some wedding logo designs a few months ago and this time I would like to introduce some other design options.

Class, Contmporary and so on

From the website of TrueLove Logo, you can find many different design style of wedding logo. You can find classice, contemporary, monogram etc. It is good to see so many different styles so that they can match your wedding theme better.

How to Use the Logo

Besides the logo designs, you can also find ideas of using the logos. Some of the examples will be:

wedding invitations (of course)

shower invitations

magnets

stamps

wedding favors

stage backdrop for your reception

bottled water (if you are obsessed enough)

There are a lot more suggestions from the website of TrueLove logo and you may find it useful.

Again, I have no connection with this company. However, it will still be good for you to gather more ideas from this website if you would like to make a logo of your own for your wedding.

You can visit http://www.truelovelogos.com/ for all this ideas.

A special Wedding

I read a piece of news a few days ago on a special wedding in Hong Kong. The wedding was taken place in a wet market, in front of a stall which sells poultry. The parents of the groom have been running the little stall for 40 years. They earn their living from this stall until the groom finished his Ph.D. degree.

The meaning is always the most important

Every couple would like to make their wedding as unique as possible. This wedding in front of a poultry stall is undoubtedly very unique and special. However, what I think is that such a wedding will become meaningless without the story behind. In this wedding the ceremony is certainly very meaningful since it tells the story of the groom.

Everyone of us will have a different story. Our weddings will automatically become special if there is a meaning behind. After 50 years, maybe all your guests have forgotten what had happened on your big day. But the meaning and memories will still be with you. And that’s why meaning is always more important.

A Red Colored Gown

Traditionally, Chinese wedding dresses are in red color. With the patterns of dragon and pheonix on it. Personally I think it can be somehow more sophisticated than a traditaional western wedding gown.

The Most Expensive Chinese wedding Gown

Most people have an impression that the most expensive Chinese wedding dress is not red in color. In fact, it is still red basically. However, the patterns are made with gold and silver strings and this will nearly cover the whole dress. And this makes the gown look like a gold and silver one.

If you are interested, you may also try to wear a Chinese wedding gown on your big day. It can certainly impress your guests a lot.

Hong Kong Weddings

In Hong Kong, it is very interesting that people will adopt both “Chinese wedding” and “Western Wedding”. In fact, I will define the wedding in Hong Kong as “Hong Kong wedding” rather than a Chinese or a Western one. This is because couples in Hong Kong nowadays have combine both traditions for their weddings.

Chinese Wedding Traditions

Couples in Hong Kong will normally follow the Chinese traditions in the morning of the wedding day. Of course they may not strictly follow all the rituals. However, they will still have the Tea Ceremony and worship the ancestors. Then they may have a more “western” ceremony to exchange vows.

When East Meets West

Sometimes the Chinese and Western traditions will be combined. Taking the wedding reception as an example. Most couples will follow the Western tradition of cake cutting. Interestingly, the cake is usually a fake which will be used for different couples. On the other hand, guests will follows the Chinese tradition to give the couples money instead of wedding gifts.

Of course some couples will prefer a simpler approach such as holding a small gathering with friends and relatives after exchanging vows. However, due to the pressures from the parents. Some of these couples will still take this “Chinese-Western” approach.

About this wedding

On 28 August 2007 there was a couple in KunMing, China who had their wedding in the air. They had their wedding in the air and also exchanged the wedding bands in the air. The reason for this special air wedding is that both Tie Guangju and Jiang Dezhang (the bride and the groom) are working as high-rise building cleaners for the same company.

Planning for your own unique wedding

The wedding is certainly very interesting. I think it is really romantic and perfect for the couple. Their wedding is tied to their lives (in this case the couple tied their wedding to their careers). Not many couples are able to connect their weddings to their lives.

All of us are thinking of and want to plan for a unique and special wedding. In fact the most unique wedding is a wedding really about you. It should be able say something about you and your partner. If you have any idea to connect your wedding to your lives, you should go ahead and forget all the etiquette and traditions. In this way I am sure that you can create a unique and special wedding of your own.

The unhappy experience of my friend when making her wedding card

I have a friend who is going to get married. Just like other couples she tried to find more inexpensive wedding items in order to save budget.

For her wedding invitation, she has found a company which is “specialized” in cartoon drawings. They will draw the portrait of the couple in a style like a cartoon drawing. However, my friend found that they do not really have a shop or office. They were just renting a table or something in a tailor’s shop and claimed that it’s a shop. My friend felt a bit uncomfortable with the company but they offered my friend quite a huge discount in order to get the job.

Eventually, my friend found that everything is wrong. The company was not really drawing their portrait. Instead they just put a drawing they did before on the wedding card. The envelope was not the one my friend chose at the beginning. The company even said that my friend needed to pay extra if she wanted to get the envelope they originally chose.

Never hire a wedding vendor which offers you too much discounts

My friend’s experience is really bad. What I think is that, if you found a wedding vendor which can offer a very low price that it is difficult to be real, you should not hire them. The best way to avoid such experience is to compare thoroughly. You can approach different shops and companies to get an idea of the average price. If the price offered by a wedding vendor is too low compared to the average price, I will suggest you not to hire that company.

You can only have your wedding once, and it will not be worth taking that risk!

The wedding of Yao Ming

The hottest news in China in these few days is the wedding (it will be held most probably middle of August) of Chinese NBA player Yao Ming. In China, couples will take a set of “wedding photos” with the gowns on before the wedding.

From the news, Yao Ming took these wedding photos in Jiuzhaigou Valley, Sichuan, China.

A little information about Jiuzhaigou

Jiuzhaigou was inhabited by various Tibetan and Qiang peoples for centuries, but was not officially discovered by the government until 1972. In fact, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. It belongs to the category V (Protected Landscape)in the IUCN system of protected area categorization.

You can consider having your wedding photo taken in Jiuzhaigou

Personally I think Jiuzhaigou is a very beautiful place. I suggest if your budget allows (may be it is quite a large budget), you can go there to take a set of wedding photos. It will be really a memorable experience.

If you plan to stick to taking the photos on your wedding day, you can also consider your honeymoon in Sichuan. It will be extremely romantic and wonderful.

This is a very special wedding certificate, with different persons handwriting, and you can see the fading military chop at the bottom left corner.

This wedding certificate has been kept by a commissioned officer for more than sixty years. In 1941, a couple met. The commissioned officer met a medical officer in the army.

Two years later, they fell in love and asked their superiors’ permission to allow them to get married.

Three days after their wedding, they went back to their positions in the army and fought against the Japanese army. They faced hundreds of times of live and death. But they never gave up. They love each other so much indeed.

A simple wedding blessed this two young people. After sixty years, they can still celebrate their love and enjoy their life finally.

We should bear in mind that we marry because of love

I think this is really a touching story. However, we should always remind ourselves that we get married because we love but not because of a unique wedding. We cannot be sure if the couples in these real life story had a unique wedding or not but it can be sure that the wedding should be an extremely simple one. Yet I believe that their love should be unique.

Lots of couple put all their emphasis on making the most unique wedding invitation of their own. However, they would easily forget the final touch on envelope of the wedding invitation.

I would like to introduce you the wax seal. There are lots of wedding theme motifs for you to choose from. And some vendors can also make the wax seal using a logo with your names. The wax seal adds lots of personal human touch on your wedding invitation.

But bear in mind that, it does take you a lot of time to make the wax seal perfect.

My advice is: practice makes perfect
