Church or Courthouse Wedding

When your boyfriend finally proposes and you accept, immediately you start making plans for the wedding. One of the first questions that will need to be answered before you can make any other plans is going to be whether you are going to get married in a church or just go to the courthouse and save money. Guys, let me give you a little advice. If you are the ones who raise this question, be very careful about the way in which you ask your girlfriend this question, because if you are not careful there may not even be a wedding.

Every little girl dreams of having a big fancy church wedding with her daddy walking her down the aisle. Or, at least that’s the way it used to be. Today, you will find more and more women who would prefer to get married in the courthouse and save the money for an extravagant reception and honeymoon. Most men would prefer getting married in a courthouse rather than in a fancy church ceremony to avoid having to wear a tuxedo for many hours. But, there are some men who are hopeless romantics and want a fairy tale wedding just as much as most women do.

When trying to decide between a church wedding or a courthouse wedding, remember that there are pros and cons to both options. Also, consider the fact that both of your families are going to want to add their opinions on this subject matter. Keep in mind that no matter what decision you make, you can’t please everyone; so ultimately, the two of you will have to make the final decision and then be completely happy with whatever decision you both make.

While a church wedding is every little girl’s dream as well as a beautiful way to create memories and share your special day with family and friends, a church wedding can also be very expensive. A courthouse wedding, on the other hand, is not expensive at all but you can’t fit all of your family and friends into a courtroom to share the special event.

You are going to have the difficult choice of deciding whether you want to spend a lot of money on a church wedding, reception, and honeymoon, or have a courthouse wedding and save your money for the reception and honeymoon, and you will probably make someone in the family mad no matter what choice you decide to make. As long as the two of you are in agreement and make your decision together, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks about it. It is your special day and you should be allowed to celebrate it the way you want.
